Ritwik graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where he discovered the history of materials, vintage, and archival practices, and developed the conviction that garments carry within them the memory of time.
Upon returning to India, he worked in the Special Economic Zones of Gujarat on textile waste management projects—an experience that revealed the scale of overconsumption and marked a turning point in his path.
He founded RKIVECITY in New Delhi in the early 2020s, conceived as a research and design laboratory dedicated to circularity. Inspired by traditional techniques such as boro and raffoo, the brand develops zero-waste remanufacturing systems that rely exclusively on existing materials.
Through this systemic and sensitive approach, the brand rethinks our relationship to clothing and situates its creations at the intersection of memory, craftsmanship, and ecology.
